Chemoga Yeda is a 280MW hydro power project. It is planned on Chemoga-Yeda river/basin in Amhara, Ethiopia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2023 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Ethiopian Electric Power.
The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 325 million cubic meter. The project is expected to generate 1,194 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $729m.
Chemoga Yeda (Chemoga Yeda I) consists of 2 units of pelton turbines with 81MW nameplate capacity.
Chemoga Yeda (Chemoga Yeda II) consists of 2 units of francis turbines with 59MW nameplate capacity.
